  • Springfield's Haitian Coalition has rebranded as the CommUnity Connection Coalition to expand services to more Clark County residents. The group, led by Pam Shay and Kelton Moore, will connect local agencies to boost health, education, housing & economic opportunities.  Springfield News-Sun

EDUCATION NEWS

  • State officials awarded Clark and Champaign county schools over $166K in school bus safety grants to add features such as seat belts, external cameras and lane-departure warning systems to buses. All schools that applied for eligible safety upgrades received an award under the program.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Local high school students and adult learners can explore degree and career options at Clark State College Preview Day on Feb. 16 starting at 8:30 a.m. Participants may choose sessions about admissions, financial aid, and scholarships at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center (275 S. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Springfield officials remind property owners and businesses that under city requirements, sidewalks must have snow and ice cleared by 10 a.m. the day after a snowfall unless an area is exempt (city code Section 903.12). The reminder seeks to protect pedestrians and maintain accessible walkways during winter.  Springfield News-Sun

  • Senior Kiera Healy set a new all-time girls' basketball scoring record at Carroll High by surpassing 1,400 career points. Her milestone was achieved during the season and will boost team spirit for future games.  WHIO
