- ➤ Officials approved an Ohio Historical Marker honoring Dr. Thomas William Burton, Springfield’s first Black physician, to be installed at the Rocking Horse Community Health Center (across from the Brooks Lawrence marker placed in Nov. 2025) as part of the America 250 celebration, with dedication expected this spring or summer. - ➤ Clark-Shawnee Local Schools approved a plan that cuts four teaching positions now and will remove additional staff, busing and athletics if the 1% earned income tax fails on upcoming May 5 and November ballots.
