- ➤ Autumn Trails Stable has launched Bridging Hearts and Horses, an equine-assisted mentorship program for children age 5 to 18 who have experienced complex childhood trauma regardless of foster or adoption status. The program offers rolling enrollment, weekly skill sessions (including themed weeks) and will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser on March 14 at 2000 Folk Ream Road. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ On Wednesday, a barn fire in Madison County near the 3100 block of Davis Road SW destroyed 6,000 pigs out of 7,500 and crews rescued 1,500, even though wind gusts of 20 & 35 mph complicated the response. WHIO

- ➤ Springfield has cultural events this weekend. Friday at 7 p.m., Ridgewood School presents Disney’s Frozen JR with free admission + a suggested $5 donation while live concerts continue at Mother Stewart’s Brewing, and Saturday at the Springfield Museum of Art, Art Noire offers a guided tour of its latest exhibition.
