  • Dave and Linda Foley established an endowment fund at the Springfield Foundation to support the Family YMCA. They have been active members for over 50 years (serving as a board leader and volunteer) and the fund will help secure future fitness programs for local residents.  Springfield News-Sun

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Springfield attorney Nathan Stuckey and partner Ryan Harris, via Windy Knoll Holdings LLC, purchased the Windy Knoll Golf Club property on 500 Roscommon Drive on Feb. 2 for over $2.2 million. The 56-acre site includes an 18-hole course, Stables Bar, restaurant plus banquet facility and is now in planning.  Springfield News-Sun

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clark County Career Technology Center students build a home with Habitat for Humanity as part of a partnership that offers hands-on experience in construction. The completed house will be moved into a local neighborhood within two to three months.  WHIO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem asked the Supreme Court to reverse rulings that blocked the planned end of TPS for Haiti and other countries. A D.C. judge paused the move to cancel TPS for Haiti (affecting 10,000 to 15,000 local residents) as appeals continue.  Springfield News-Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • Comedian Jan McInnis will keynote CHF Celebrates in Springfield, an event featuring live music, food, and a look at CHF’s $770,000 grant support for local health programs. Tickets cost $35 and are available through Mar. 5 (registration required).  Springfield News-Sun

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tippecanoe High School's Lady Red Devils reached a milestone by winning their 1,000th game on Wednesday at Springfield High School when they beat rival Butler 49-32; the team improved to 22-2 and will face Western Brown in the district final Saturday at Lakota High School.  WHIO
