EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clark County high school juniors and seniors can apply for the Magnify Internship Program before March 13 to get paid summer internships with local businesses (the program uses the YouScience assessment to match skills with career opportunities).  Springfield News-Sun

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy rains have forced Germantown Dam to store floodwaters and closed floodgates in Hamilton and Middletown to slow surging rivers, while several Greene County parks (including Narrows Reserve and Constitution Park) are closed for safety.  WYSO
  • The National Weather Service said that lingering flooding is expected today in low-lying areas and along local rivers after several days of heavy rain, notably in Butler, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties. More rain is forecast through Saturday (residents should avoid driving through high water).  Springfield News-Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Clark County Emergency Management Agency warns residents today that scammers manipulate caller ID to mimic its official calls. The agency advises hanging up immediately and using the official number (from the county directory) to confirm any suspicious calls.  WHIO
