COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Charlie Crabill was honored with the 2026 Kuss Lifetime Achievement Award today for his dedication to Springfield's success. Ed Leventhal — a longtime friend — presented the award, highlighting Crabill’s 80 years of community support and business leadership.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Leadership Clark County participants collected 9,000 pounds of nonperishable food for Second Harvest Food Bank during their annual Community Impact Project in Springfield, with school districts and local teams like GISA (which donated over 1,400 pounds) boosting the drive.  Springfield News-Sun

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun and Journal-News are asking local families for their experiences with childcare costs to show how these expenses affect both parents and providers. Families can share their insights to help shape the report.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Springfield High School stadium will get a $6 million upgrade with a new track, expanded bleachers, concrete and blacktop replacement, and a digital scoreboard. The renovations will be completed this fall using funds from the district’s permanent improvement fund (serving 7,700 students).  WYSO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Court of Appeals denied the federal government’s request to set aside a ruling that kept TPS protections in place for Haitian nationals, including Springfield residents. The decision was issued late Friday and will be appealed to the Supreme Court.  Springfield News-Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • Nearly half of Ohio drivers admitted in a study that their eyesight is not good enough for driving and many have not seen an eye doctor in years. Health experts recommend routine exams to help 2.5 million drivers stay safe on the road.  WHIO
