A local storm on Saturday ripped the roof off Jim’s Tire Center in Springfield, leaving live wires and causing power outages for nearly 80,000 customers plus prompting fire officials and utility crews to secure the site and restore power.

A Springfield manufacturer landed a $22M Air Force contract for cargo net work that will be completed by March 5, with most work done locally.

The deal marks a milestone for the company and will soon add a second shift + boost local employment.

Cecil St., has been listed for sale and will close soon after 22 years. The owners plan to open a new restaurant and event venue outside of New Carlisle on Quick Road with no set date.

The Clark County Historical Society has created a Peeps in History display using marshmallow Peeps to recreate archival scenes at the Heritage Center in Springfield until summer.
