- ➤ Local teen filmmakers showcased their 48-hour films at Premiere the Powerful Festival hosted by BATS in Springfield. Eleven teams from 14 schools competed with live performances and red carpet events, earning awards for Artist Merit and People’s Choice; films are viewable online & set to inspire future entrants. - ➤ Springfield’s Fire and Rescue Division opened Station 5 earlier this month on the West side at 50 N. Thompson Ave as a partnership with Box 27 (a volunteer group supporting fire and police services) to improve emergency response times. WYSO
- ➤ About 250 Springfield residents remained without power after a wind storm on Friday; Ohio Edison crews made individual repairs and had restored power for 95% of customers by 11 p.m. Monday. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ Springfield advocates filed a brief urging the Supreme Court to deny the request to lift the stay blocking termination of Haitian TPS, citing local evidence of economic & social benefits provided by TPS holders. - ➤ Highway patrol troopers have increased enforcement on roads today for St. Patrick's Day as part of the national 'Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving' campaign.
