CULTURE NEWS

  • Springfield Arts Council will host its annual fundraising auction Saturday to honor volunteers with the new Heart of the Arts Award and reveal the 60th Summer Arts Festival lineup. The live event will feature performances and an online silent auction that runs until 9 p.m. March 21.  Springfield News-Sun

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Today, Spectrum announced its rural broadband expansion now connects over 20,000 homes and businesses across several counties. Greene County Career Center will launch a fiber optic installation training program this fall & local residents expect improved digital access.  Springfield News-Sun

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fulbright Scholar Coulibaly will lead a public session on March 31 at Clark State’s Springfield campus & he will share his international agricultural experience at 9:30 a.m. and present a lecture on cocoa production at 11 a.m. in LRC room 207; the free event is open to all.  Clark State College
  • Brantley Hensley, a middle school student at Fairborn Middle School, won a full four-year scholarship at Wright State University after attending the Hoopla event. He also received an iPad and tickets to March Madness and will be recognized at the games.  WHIO
