EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wittenberg University raised a record-breaking $1.1 million during its annual day of giving on Thursday, beating its previous total by over $400,000. The event collected more than $450,000 in matching donations and 1,377 gifts overall—funds that will help the school address its recent financial challenges. Springfield News-Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Transportation announced it will create an Advanced Air Mobility division — to be housed at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence in Springfield — that will use new aircraft designs for delivering medical packages and moving larger cargo. AAM Director Robert Tanner said the division will launch in phases to develop vertiports — landing pads used for vertical takeoffs and landings. WHIO
- ➤ A new Ohio law will allow law enforcement to charge up to $75 per hour for processing body cam videos beginning April 2—most local agencies including Springfield are still evaluating if and when to apply fees for noncommercial requests. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ Springfield state officials are distributing an anonymous survey (asking about demographics, healthcare access and job skills) to learn more about the local Haitian community, and Wright State students will analyze responses starting April 10.
