- ➤ A large crowd gathered in Yellow Springs on Saturday to celebrate the Haitian community with comedian Dave Chappelle & Grammy-winning musician Wyclef Jean. Organizers said the event united local leaders and residents amid concerns that Haitian immigrants on parole may lose legal status on April 24 & those with TPS will lose protection in August. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Flooding and high water led to road closures on Saturday morning as State Route 48 northbound in Miami County and State Route 725 from Penewith Road to Lower Bellbrook Road in Greene County were shut down. WHIO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Miami Conservancy District activated its flood protection system across the Great Miami River Watershed after heavy rain soaked the region with up to 2.59 inches in some areas. More rain and strong storms are forecast today — officials have closed floodgates and are monitoring river levels on the Little Miami and Mad Rivers to keep communities safe. Springfield News-Sun
