- ➤ Aldi is building a new store on the east side at the corners of East Main, 4th Ave and Maplewood Ave near UEC Theatres, with construction underway since November 2025; the store is set to open this summer and officials will reveal a grand opening date soon. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ Meteorologist Nick Dunn says comet PanSTARRS (C/2025 R3) may be visible in the Miami Valley tomorrow morning in the eastern sky. Stargazers might need telescopes or binoculars as the comet appears lower each day with earlier sunrises. WHIO
- ➤ OPAI presents Footloose! The Musical: Youth Edition today at 7 p.m. at John Legend Theater (700 S. Limestone St) with additional shows on Saturday at 7 p.m. and a matinee at 2 p.m.; tickets cost $17.82 for adults and $14.70 for students and seniors. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ Christina Darding received the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's Music Educator of the Year award at a recent concert. The native educator and founder of Elements Music Studio at 25 W. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. DeWine unveiled a new public school attendance dashboard on Wed, Apr. 15 to track chronic absenteeism with weekly updated data — many districts have not yet joined the program. Local schools and communities are encouraged to use the tool to spot trends and address attendance concerns. Springfield News-Sun
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Health launched an interactive immunization dashboard Tuesday, April 14 to display county and school vaccination and exemption rates after 11 measles cases were confirmed in the state.
