Good morning, Springfield. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 19th of April.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Recent data from local agencies show that the caseloads for Medicaid, SNAP, and other public assistance programs among Springfield's Haitian residents have dropped significantly since last summer, yet most residents continue to work and their children remain in local schools. Service providers (including Clark County Job and Family Services and Rocking Horse) note that while numbers fell by up to 63%, community engagement remains steady amid uncertain future legal status.  Springfield News-Sun

The group will host a formal gala at 6 p.m. April 26 at The Springfield Metropolis, 102 W. High St+ with $100 tickets including dinner, dancing and an open bar.  Springfield News-Sun
