Sally Remmetter, a longtime Springfield editorial assistant known for greeting visitors at the paper, died Sunday, Apr.

19 at Springfield Regional Medical Center — a celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 2 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

The Hartman Rock Garden, a folk art treasure built by Ben Hartman, is at 1905 Russell Avenue and welcomes visitors with its patriotic, religious and school-themed stone structures that tell stories of art during hard times; admission is free and it opens daily from 8 a.m. (6 p.m. closing).
