- ➤ The Miami Valley Cycling Summit will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Hollenbeck Bayley Center in Springfield to discuss cycling policy, safety, and the economic impact of the region’s 350 miles of paved trails. Bike Miami Valley and the city of Springfield are hosting the event with keynote speakers Erick Cedeño and Ken McLeod — the summit is set to show how cycling can enhance transportation and local business. - ➤ Sweet Retreat, a popular seasonal ice cream shop, will reopen under new ownership after it reversed plans to close — the change will bring back its local summer treats. WHIO

- ➤ A large lineup of summer festivals and fairs will take place in the Miami Valley from May through August. Locals can look forward to events like the Clark County Fair in Springfield from July 18 to 25 — a showcase of rides, live music and competitions — along with art shows, food truck rallies and county celebrations across the region. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Unofficial results from the Clark County Board of Elections showed that voters rejected the Clark-Shawnee levy at 66.3 to 33.6 percent and the Greenon levy at 82.9 to 17 percent while voters approved Tecumseh’s renewal levy at 69.4 to 30.6 and Northeastern’s income tax levy at 55.5 to 45.5 percent—final results from the Champaign County Board of Elections showed Graham voters rejected their tax levy at 58.1 to 41.8 percent.
