On May 7, AES customers in our Miami Valley lost power—2,585 people were recorded without electricity as of 11:56 a.m. from the outage report.
Federal officials canceled most of Springfield's $1.6 million grant for gun violence prevention, and a coalition of nine local agencies filed an appeal with the Department of Justice on April 30 to restore funding for outreach programs.
The group seeks to have the $1.24 million grant reinstated so that violence-prevention work can continue (following a termination notice on April 16).
