- ➤ On Wednesday, police evacuated Marc’s on E Waterloo Road after a woman left a suspicious purse package and said it might explode—Christina Miller, 52, was taken into custody and charged with inducing panic and making false alarms. WHIO
- ➤ Springfield Police are renewing their call for information on the 2008 homicide of 25-year-old Alia Hartman, whose body was found after a house fire on Sweetbriar Lane South + investigators urge anyone with details to call 937-324-7685. WHIO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dollar General's Literacy Foundation will award about $300,000 to Ohio non-profits, schools, and libraries including $9,996 to the Springfield City School District—grants will support new technology, books, materials, and software for literacy programs. The awards go to groups located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store. WDTN

- ➤ The city will build a new police station on the site of a former nightclub — work is set to begin soon to provide updated facilities for law enforcement. WHIO
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The School Based Health Center at Springfield High School, open for nine months and having served over 2,000 visits since August, now offers comprehensive vision care for Medicaid and self-pay patients—led by experienced optometrist Dr. Cindy Ahern.
