  • Springfield will host its annual Community Cleanup Day on May 31 from 8 a.m. to noon behind the Clark County Public Library on Jefferson Street—participants must show proof of residency to drop off items like yard debris, bulky furniture, and electronics while hazardous materials will not be accepted.  Springfield News-Sun
  • On Friday, 5-year-old Larkin Fulk had a special birthday as his community came together to support him in his fight against a rare form of Leukemia. His family planned a parade—starting at Kenton Ridge High School—where many neighbors came to cheer him on.  WHIO

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Springfield-Xenia Road and US 68 in Springfield Township early Saturday—CareFlight was called to assist and further updates are pending.  WDTN
  • A two-vehicle crash on Friday night near Tuttle and East National Road in Springfield injured one person when one vehicle was rear-ended, went off the road and caught fire, and the injured driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where their condition is now stable.  Springfield News-Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryan Heck explained that the police substation was renamed in honor of former chief Roger Evans, who died in 2024 — his leadership and service are remembered through this change.  Springfield News-Sun
