- ➤ Michael Rae Kenneth Wise, 36, was struck and killed on Urbana Road on Ohio 72 in Clark County just after 1:50 p.m. when a red Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jason A. Milliner, 50, left its lane and hit him — Milliner suffered minor injuries as authorities continue their investigation. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ CareFlight responded to a crash in Clark County on May 17 at 5:33 a.m. EDT — emergency crews managed the scene as investigations continue. WHIO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, Wittenberg University in Springfield awarded 301 bachelor’s degrees and 22 master’s degrees to students in fields such as education, biology, and nursing. University leaders said staff cuts and program changes will help reduce operating losses by fiscal year 2027 (the five most common bachelor’s subjects were education, biology, nursing, management, and exercise science). - ➤ State transportation inspectors are checking semitrucks at truck stops and rest areas during a three-day International Road Check to lower the risk of hazardous trucks on the highways.
