ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Poison Hemlock is spreading across Ohio and poses a deadly risk since every part of the plant is toxic and remains so for up to three years. The plant, linked to the death of Socrates, blooms from late April to early July & herbicides are recommended by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to control it. WHIO

- ➤ City officials in Springfield are studying removal of an aging traffic light at the intersection of Lagonda Avenue and Sherman Avenue to save over $300,000—traffic at this site remains below the 300-car threshold. Signs have been posted and the signal now flashes—community feedback supports the change, and stop signs will replace the traffic light after the flashing period. WHIO
