- ➤ The Map the Meal Gap study shows that food insecurity in the Dayton region increased by 1% in The Foodbank's service area covering Greene, Preble and Montgomery counties. The study found that more than one in seven people lack steady access to healthy food — about 8,000 more need help as federal supports ended. WYSO
- ➤ Helicopters are flying at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as HeliStorm 2025, a free event for radio-controlled helicopter enthusiasts, continues today through June 1 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force—attendees enjoy competitions and other activities. WDTN

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Springfield's school superintendent Bob Hill—recognized for his leadership in district programs—is one of five Ohio school leaders to receive the Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation and will be honored at the Educator Awards Banquet in July with a $1,000 check for a district initiative. - ➤ The Clark County Literacy Center will host the inaugural Un-Run for Literacy 0.5K on June 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. downtown where participants will start at the Clark County Library parking lot and join one of nine 15-minute waves, enjoy food and drink samples, and receive a medal and free beer for those 21 or older to support local literacy programs. Hill was named one of five recipients of the Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence for his leadership and school initiatives + he will be formally honored at a July banquet where he will receive $1,000 for a project benefiting the district.
