ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Monday, troopers and medics responded just before 1:45 a.m. on I-70 near State Route 4 in Clark County — a Subaru Legacy hit a truck-mounted attenuator and was struck by a Hyundai Elantra — with the Subaru driver fleeing the scene and a 36-year-old Hyundai passenger flown to Miami Valley Hospital while ODOT confirmed the crash involved a contractor.  WHIO

CRIME NEWS

  • Authorities rescued a man who fell from a 40-foot cliff at Mad River Gorge and Nature Preserve along West National Road and U.S. 68 on Sunday morning while reportedly fleeing law enforcement, and he sustained severe injuries including a compound leg fracture — investigators are checking if his fall is linked to an earlier chase.  WHIO
  • Harley Cyphers (17) pleaded guilty to the murder of his father, Dale Shawn Cyphers, after an argument in September and was sentenced to at least 18 years in prison in Clark County Common Pleas Court on Friday.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Two bodies were found on the same street days apart, leaving residents uneasy about neighborhood safety—especially for local children.  WHIO

CULTURE NEWS

  • Come Together will perform a Beatles rooftop tribute at 7 p.m. Friday, June 6 on the third-floor terrace of Springfield City Hall — the band will play the full Abbey Road album with free admission and $20 VIP tickets. Food trucks and local restaurants will offer treats and takeout specials to enrich the concert experience.  Springfield News-Sun

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Four new affordable homes — each 1,300 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms — are planned on East Liberty Street in Springfield under the Affordable Homes Program, reported by the Clark County Land Reutilization Corporation. Mayor Rob Rue said the work will help local families and bring stability to the area.  WDTN

SPORTS NEWS

  • At Victory Lanes, veteran bowler Bobby Gross, age 75, will have a retirement celebration on June 8 as he concludes a career that began in 1980—while Team USA member Chris Via, honored on seven occasions, returns to his old lanes to share his knowledge. Gross started drilling bowling balls decades ago and Via’s father will help run the shop, making the event a complete circle moment for both.  Springfield News-Sun
