- ➤ A severe storm ripped apart the boardwalk entrance at Glen Helen Nature Preserve and displaced resident beavers—officials report that a tree fell onto the bridge and advise visitors to park at The Cascades lot at 1075 Ohio 343 as volunteers and donations are sought for repairs. - ➤ Clark County Land Bank begins construction on four affordable single-family homes on East Liberty Street to boost housing opportunities for local families and workers—these 1,300 square-foot homes feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and they are funded by $1 million in ARPA funds from both the county and Springfield City Commissions to support eligible buyers with down-payment assistance.
