- ➤ A shooting near a local bar hurt at least one person (the injured person's condition is not yet known) as police work to determine if anyone is in custody (further details are pending). WHIO
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Invenergy is asking for community input on its planned 180-megawatt Sloopy Solar Energy Center in Harmony Twp — a project that could power 33,000 homes, create hundreds of jobs, and bring a $430 million investment — at a public meeting on July 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Clark State College’s Hollenbeck Bayley and Creative Arts and Conference Center. The company plans to use feedback from the meeting to shape the project as studies continue and further meetings are scheduled. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ Julie Zimmer, aged 68, will mark two years since she rang the bell at Mercy Health Springfield Cancer Center on Friday to celebrate the end of her Herceptin treatment for stage 2 Her2 positive breast cancer. She made a stained glass piece using 32 colors to show many types of cancer—local friends helped with the project—and she will continue taking Tamoxifen while honoring all patients in her fight.
