Clark County Partners in Prevention, founded in 2013, works with Springfield groups to lower youth substance abuse and spread prevention strategies.
They hosted Pedal for Prevention on May 16 near Covenant United Methodist Church and continue meeting with community members and state lawmakers to promote healthier habits.
The Best of Springfield awards contest is open for nominations by the Springfield News-Sun and Greater Springfield Partnership.
Nominations are accepted until July 3 and voting runs from July 27 to Aug. 14 with winners announced on Oct. 15.
🎓 Education
Clark State College recognized 1,467 students for making the Dean’s List this spring semester — including over 500 College Credit Plus students who maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Clark State College on its Springfield campus renamed its Library Resource Center as the Blondin Administrative Center in honor of retiring President Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D.
The center now houses key offices and classrooms for everyday operations, and her retirement will take place on June 30.

Ohio Kids Dental opened its first Springfield location on Friday, June 19 at 1416 W.
First St to help meet a local shortage of pediatric dental care. The office offers cleanings, fillings, crowns and emergency services and serves mostly Medicaid patients.
