A large, suspicious fire broke out Thursday morning at a vacant industrial site near Kenton and Burt streets next to the railroad tracks, marking the second blaze in about 10 months as fire chief Jacob King said the fire likely was caused by human actions because utilities were off and no lightning struck, and firefighters and police reported no injuries.

A black bear was seen in our county for the second time on June 26th, and Stephens said he worries about anyone trying to shoot or capture it.

He asked that people let the animal roam free—until wildlife experts can check its behavior.
