CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Jimmy Watkins barricaded himself in a home on the 200 block of Vine Road in Clark County after officers attempted to serve him an indictment for drug charges and he was taken into custody around 11:16 p.m. following several hours of negotiation — no injuries were reported. WHIO
- ➤ Springfield officers and medics responded at 10:46 p.m. Saturday to a mass shooting on Rose Street that left one person dead and several injured, as 911 callers described hearing multiple gunshots and chaos at a party—officials said. WHIO
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mercy Health REACH Services in Springfield and Urbana celebrated 30 years supporting Clark and Champaign county residents struggling with addiction — starting with an outpatient program that later added tobacco cessation, detox and case management services.
