ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire damaged lanes at Northridge Lanes on Moorefield Road at 8:17 a.m. Thursday while no one was inside — owner Bo Kearny said the venue will reopen in a few weeks as firefighters contained the blaze and the cause is under investigation.  WHIO
  • Fire crews from Moorefield Twp, Springfield and German Twp responded early Thursday to smoke at Northridge Lanes bowling alley in Clark County and quickly controlled the fire in the maintenance area—The state fire marshal is investigating the cause.  Springfield News-Sun

CRIME NEWS

  • A man was arrested on I-70 near US-68 early Thursday after fleeing a traffic stop while his vehicle hit 98 mph—he is now in custody at Clark County Jail with no reported injuries.  Springfield News-Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On July 3rd, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed a law that lets the Farm Bureau offer new health plans to help farm families with insurance costs—these plans will start in January 2026. Lawmakers passed the bill to give farmers another option for coverage amid rising health care expenses.  WYSO
  • Gov. Mike DeWine vetoed property tax reform measures from the $60 billion state budget last week because he said they would hurt school funding—he formed a study group that will study new options while lawmakers and advocates now plan next steps for relief. Lawmakers are discussing a possible override as property tax reform proponents push for future changes.  Springfield News-Sun
