Good morning, Springfield. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 9th of July.

CRIME NEWS

  • Thirteen people were indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court this week—charges include drug possession, DUI, theft, assault and attempted murder.  Springfield News-Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Clark County’s $4.6M renovation at the Home Road campus is complete and will open in August with a ribbon cutting set for 1 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 20 — an explosion in 2023 caused damage that cost nearly $1M to fix and led the county to hire a new contractor.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Springfield will resurface portions of residential roads on U.S. 40 from Greenmount Avenue to Burnett Road, on Main Street from Spring Street to Greenmount Road, and on Selma Road from Spring Street to the corporation line next year — the project is part of the neighborhood streets program that began in 2018 and will use state and federal funding to cover most costs.  Springfield News-Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheehan Brothers Vending of Springfield recalled several food items after an Ohio Department of Agriculture inspection found that product labels omitted sesame allergen details from July 2 to July 8—no illnesses have been reported—and the company advises customers with sesame allergies to dispose of these items and request replacements. Officials will continue to monitor the situation.  WYSO
