CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Mark Messer, 36 from Springfield, pleaded guilty to one count of felonious assault in Dayton in connection with a social media post about a stolen car — his sentencing is set for Sept. 18. Springfield News-Sun
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, four Clark County school districts added staff and made building upgrades for the upcoming school year. Clark-Shawnee Local welcomed a new special education director, Global Impact STEM Academy opened its $16.9 million Upper Academy — a new facility for grades ten to twelve, Northeastern waived its technology fee while updating its facilities, and Springfield launched new healthcare and career pathway programs. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Clark County Combined Health District and community partners will host an overdose awareness fair at National Road Commons spanning two days—Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.—with the theme A Brighter Tomorrow: Community, Wellness and Awareness. The event will feature chalk art, free naloxone training and resources to help reduce addiction stigma and honor those affected by overdose. Springfield News-Sun
