The Fair at New Boston will bring 18th Century life to Springfield at George Rogers Clark Park on Saturday, Aug.

30 and Sunday, Aug. 31, with family activities, food, live shows, and artisan demos—a mix of new and old ways to experience history rain or shine. The event is planned for Labor Day weekend and will continue rain or shine.

Clark State College named David Ferguson as its new director of workforce; he brought top experience from leading roles at Henny Penny Corporation and the military.

He will form partnerships with local employers and community groups to design training solutions that meet workforce needs—strengthening pathways for students and the regional economy.

A Springfield mother and daughter run Bloomfield Farm, a 500-acre u-pick flower farm where visitors can pick a variety of flowers and join hands-on workshops + fill a mason jar for $10 as families enjoy the natural setting.

The farm is open Thursdays from 6 p.m. to sunset and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the season ends.
