ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A woman was hit by a car in Springfield — CareFlight transported her to Miami Valley Hospital with suspected serious injuries. WHIO
- ➤ The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who saw the motorcycle crash on Needmore Road that seriously injured a rider to come forward—investigators are gathering details to help solve the case. WHIO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport will receive almost $1.7 million from the FAA to rebuild Taxiway C—city officials approved a federal grant of $1.62 million along with a local match of $89,171 to boost airport safety and capacity. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ If the city commission approves the ordinances, Springfield will award federal funds to local nonprofits—up to $89,1000 to Sheltered Inc., $29,000 to Nehemiah Foundation, and $25,000 to Springfield Promise Neighborhood—to support shelter operations, warming center planning, and other essential services for people experiencing homelessness. The contracts will cover reimbursements for salaries, travel, and supplies and depend on the city receiving about $2 million in CDBG funds annually. Springfield News-Sun
