Moody’s Ratings affirmed Clark State College's A2 rating and stable outlook on Aug.
27, citing state support, low borrowing, and strong financial practices that help the college serve the community (including its Springfield location). The college offers 150 programs and remains focused on meeting local workforce needs.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has expanded its investigation of spring 2026 testing anomalies at Columbus City Schools to include four local charter schools, including Springfield Preparatory and Fitness Academy (152 students) in Clark County.
The review follows earlier findings of irregular test results at Columbus high schools.
