The Springfield City School District is planning a five-year 1.5-mill additional property tax levy on the November ballot that will cost $53 per every $100,000 of property value and raise $1,229,000 for permanent improvements—residents are invited to share their views on the proposal.
Springfield City Schools celebrated September’s Attendance Awareness Month and reported improved attendance rates—student attendance reached 89% and staff attendance also rose compared to last year.
The district uses scoreboards, phone calls and home visits to help families and students succeed.
Ohio lawmakers introduced a bill that would require a watermark on all computer-made images to show they are fake—removing the mark would be illegal.
The bill also makes it a crime to use a person's likeness for fraud or to create and share fake images of children and is now under review in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
