EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan Szekacs, a Clark-Shawnee teacher and musician known for his passion and kindness, died after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for Oct. 4 at Grace Lutheran Church—visitation starts at noon and the service follows at 2 p.m.  Springfield News-Sun
  • Today, Clark State College celebrates National Workforce Development Month by offering new career training for community members—OSHA 10 Training on Oct. 8—9, PLC Training on Oct. 21—23, and a 9-1-1 Communications Dispatch Academy starting Oct. 27 at its Xenia Campus.  Clark State College

  • Today, the city warned planning and zoning applicants of scam emails that use a fake Springfield logo to request payment—officials urged caution when verifying invoice details.  WHIO
  • The Springfield BMV on Sunset Avenue is temporarily closed after its deputy registrar resigned and the facility did not follow six state requirements for transactions — the North Bechtle Avenue office will take over operations in about a week.  WHIO

  • Pink Powder Puff 'Boo Away Cancer'

    The NE FFA will be holding our 13 Annual Pink Powder Puff event on Saturday, October 25th at 2:30 PM at Conover field to benefit the Breast Cancer Endowment Fund of Clark/Champaign Counties. Over the last 12 years, we have raised over $143,000 for the endowment. Along with the football games, we will have chicken and noodles in the concessions plus raffle and silent auction items, admission is just $5 per person.
