EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Christian Brady was inaugurated as Wittenberg University’s 16th president Friday in the historic Weaver Chapel—he thanked the community, faculty, alumni and church leaders for their support. Brady began his strategic planning on June 1 and is set to lead the university in new academic initiatives. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ An Ohio Aviation Drone program that began at Emmanuel Christian Academy was made a permanent state initiative when Gov. Mike DeWine signed it into the budget on July 1 and has since expanded to 11 schools statewide with an estimated 850 students enrolled in courses for high school and college credit. The program provides funding for equipment, instructor training, and hands-on flight experience at Springfield-Beckley Airport (offering first-time flight opportunities for many students). Fall Harvest Festival
2-6 p.m. — Kettering Fields — Free admission — Celebrate autumn with family-friendly activities, a pumpkin patch, and a costume contest.

Pink Powder Puff 'Boo Away Cancer'
The NE FFA will be holding our 13 Annual Pink Powder Puff event on Saturday, October 25th at 2:30 PM at Conover field to benefit the Breast Cancer Endowment Fund of Clark/Champaign Counties. Over the last 12 years, we have raised over $143,000 for the endowment. Along with the football games, we will have chicken and noodles in the concessions plus raffle and silent auction items, admission is just $5 per person.

Standing Up to POTS Awareness Event
11 AM – 3 PM — Wittenberg University — Free entry — Support a non-profit working to raise awareness about POTS and its impact on lives.

National Philanthropy Day 2025
12-1:30 p.m. — Festival Green Clubhouse — Lunch provided — Celebrate local philanthropy and support community impact with an online silent auction.

Bugs Bunny at the Symphony
7:30-10 p.m. — Clark State Performing Arts Center — Ticket prices vary — Celebrate Bugs Bunny’s 85th birthday with a live symphony performance of classic Looney Tunes.
