- ➤ Law enforcement warned that a new drug called purple fentanyl—a mix of fentanyl and lidocaine—may not be reversed by Narcan and could lead to deadlier overdoses. Authorities noted that while it has been reported in parts of the Midwest, it is expected to appear locally soon. WHIO

- ➤ A local nonprofit plans a season of events that celebrates young talent by holding an Area College Fair on Nov 22 at John Legend Theater — where seventh to twelfth graders will receive college guidance — and by hosting Art That Bonds on Feb 10, a dance competition on Feb 15 at Kuss Auditorium, with a youth summit planned for next spring.
