- ➤ Construction has begun today on a new park in the Engaged Neighborhood on Springfield's southwest side, where phase one will add pickleball and basketball courts and a drinking fountain by mid-winter — funded by the Land Bank’s $500,000 investment at the former Euclid Elements site. Future phases will expand the park with playground equipment and affordable housing as community partners work to raise additional funds. Springfield News-Sun
