- ➤ Springfield’s Gifts and Presence campaign will help nearly 500 nursing home residents receive Christmas gifts as residents from six homes have submitted wish lists that include items such as comforters and TVs. Gift dropoffs will be held on Dec.6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Dec.7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Springfield Metropolis and festive visits with Santa and treats will occur from Dec.16-18 — community members are encouraged to participate.
