- ➤ Springfield News-Sun is asking local residents to donate to Holiday Food Relief so that every $1 gives 2 meals to those in need—donations will be collected online, by mail, and with envelopes in the paper on Nov. 16, Nov. 23, Dec. 14, and Dec. 28. - ➤ Urban Light Ministries will host its third annual Mayor’s Breakfast on the Thursday before Thanksgiving to honor ten transplant heroes who moved to Springfield and enriched the community— the event will include a welcome prayer, musical selections, and remarks by Springfield Mayor Rob Rue and ministry leaders.
