- ➤ Clark County Public Library opened the Mary C. Hoppes Children’s Library in Northridge with support from the Hoppes family in honor of their late matriarch. Library officials said the memorial fund will provide future donations—helping the branch serve young readers amid statewide budget cuts. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ County officials are offering free recycling for campaign signs — residents may bring their signs to the Green Recycling Canopy to help clean up materials for the upcoming campaign. WHIO
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Several local high school football teams won their playoff games Friday and advanced to the regional finals—those games will be held at neutral sites on Nov. 21. WHIO
- ➤ The Conscious Connect CDC unveiled a historical marker in Springfield Friday to honor Brooks Lawrence—a pioneering Black athlete who broke baseball’s color barrier—with Gov. Mike DeWine attending to recognize his lasting impact on sports and civil rights. Placed in front of The Dome, the marker is meant to ensure his legacy inspires future generations.
