- ➤ A QuikTrip gas station opened on the site of a hotel hit by a tornado in Harrison Township—local residents now have a new fueling option where the hotel once stood. WHIO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wittenberg University was awarded $583,800 in grant funding to upgrade campus security cameras in residence halls and common areas. The new real-time system will boost safety in collaboration with local law enforcement—Mary Beth Walter said the investment enhances overall campus protection. Springfield News-Sun
- ➤ Springfield City Schools announced it will close the School of Innovation at the end of the 2025 to 2026 school year. About 100 students will join Springfield High School as the district combines programs — saying the move is due to rising budget limits from unfair state support. WHIO
- ➤ Wittenberg University has named Meghan Mason as its new director of international education to help more students study abroad and embrace different cultures. Mason, who worked at Middlebury, Kenyon and Denison, will host events during International Education Week from Nov. 17-21 to promote global programs. Springfield News-Sun
