CULTURE NEWS

  • The Clark County Historical Society will open its Enchanted Forest holiday display Friday through Dec. 20 at the Heritage Center’s 2nd Floor Hellmuth Rotating Gallery at 117 S. Fountain Ave. Santa will visit with the public on select times—5–8 p.m. on Fridays during Holiday in the City, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturdays from Dec. 6 through Dec. 20, and in the evenings on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18.  Springfield News-Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local students testified before the Health Committee against a bill that would force minors to get parental consent for mental health care—saying the rule could trap kids in unsafe home situations. Their testimony highlighted that many students lack caring guardians—urging lawmakers to maintain the current system that lets kids get emergency care without parental approval.  Springfield News-Sun
