- ➤ Springfield’s School of Innovation will close at the end of this school year and merge with Springfield High School to address high per-student costs and a growing deficit — the district will make formal decisions next month while offering individualized meetings and an open house to help students adjust. Staff reassignments will be managed through gradual attrition to minimize job loss. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ Mercy Health in Springfield earned advanced stroke certifications as its Springfield hospital became a Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and its Urbana hospital was recognized as an Acute Stroke Ready Stroke Center—providing rapid treatment with a full stroke team available 24/7.
