  • Burke, a friendly 50-60 lb. Shepherd mix, is ready for a meet n' greet adoption today at Clark County Dog Shelter (5201 Urbana Road) where his fee covers neuter, vaccines, microchip, dog license, and a free vet check. BUSINESS NEWS

  • Price Stores in Washington Township will close at the end of December after 75 years in business, and shoppers made a final visit to say farewell to cherished memories from proms and weddings — a nod to the deep local legacy.  WHIO
  • An outdoor vehicle dealer that has served the area for 72 years (since 1953) will close its doors next week. Longtime customers may need to seek alternatives for outdoor outdoor vehicles.  WHIO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Evon Walters, Ed.D., will become president of Clark State College on July 1 after a national search by the Board of Trustees, replacing Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D., who led the college for 13 years.  Clark State College

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Springfield’s RTA is offering free bus rides through Dec. 31 — riders may also have the chance to see Santa on select routes. Check local schedules for more details.  WHIO
  • The city approved up to $67,500 in federal Community Development Block Grant funds Tuesday to cover expenses that will keep Springfield’s only dedicated men’s homeless shelter open through March (ensuring shelter during winter). Nonprofit officials said they continue to raise funds for long-term support.  Springfield News-Sun

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new 38-unit apartment complex at 4821 Cornell St. in Northridge is nearing completion and over half its units are already rented at $1,395 a month — it is part of a plan by Premier Property Sales to add 77 housing units to the area in the next 12 months.  Springfield News-Sun
