- ➤ Springfield Symphony Orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Clark State Performing Arts Center’s Kuss Auditorium using a new text critical edition of the score and extra musicians to complete its roster. Best-selling author Arved Ashby will deliver a pre-concert talk that explains the piece’s background and influence (including its use in ballets, movies, and skating routines). Springfield News-Sun
