Springfield artist Nathan Conner was hired by Leep to create a Negro Leagues-themed painting for a commemorative auction celebrating baseball history at Rickwood Field, and his black-and-white piece will be finished before the event.
The finished work may later be displayed at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City.

New Carlisle City Council is set to appoint Donald Hall III as city manager at today's meeting—held at 6 p.m. at Heritage Hall in Smith Park.
He will begin his role on April 14, replacing interim manager Howard Kitko after the council reviewed 21 applicants and interviewed three candidates.
