On June 9, the Neighborhood Housing Partnership held an open house on Clifton Avenue in Springfield to celebrate the construction of seven new homes—Natasha Martin from KeyBank SW and Central Ohio and executive director Rachel Goff joined the event.
Six Springfield High School theater students were honored on June 5 at the Miami Valley High School Theater Awards for their work on the musical 'The Addams Family.' Their talents in props design, set design, lighting, acting, and choreography were recognized from a pool of 39 local schools—highlighting strong community support for the arts.
Sugarcreek Township will unveil a new Veterans Memorial in August at the corner of Pine Court and Upper Bellbrook Road to honor local veteran Jim 'Pee Wee' Martin, a paratrooper during World War II who fought on D Day.
The memorial will include flags, monuments for all military branches and a 7 to 8 foot statue showing Martin as he jumped from his plane in Normandy — a project that fulfills a long-held vision by township officials.
