Law enforcement warned that a new drug called purple fentanyl—a mix of fentanyl and lidocaine—may not be reversed by Narcan and could lead to deadlier overdoses.
Authorities noted that while it has been reported in parts of the Midwest, it is expected to appear locally soon.
